How to prepare for permanent lip makeup
Thorough preparation is key to an optimal result:
- Herpenorm / Valaciclovir — start taking one day before the procedure and continue for a total of 5 days (cold sore prevention).
- Do not take antibiotics for at least 14 days before the procedure.
- Stop taking blood-thinning medications (aspirin, etc.) 10 days before the procedure.
- Avoid sunbeds and sunbathing for 10 days before the procedure.
- Do not consume alcohol, coffee, strong tea or energy drinks for 24 hours before the procedure.
- Do not smoke for at least 2 hours before the procedure.
- We recommend intensively moisturising your lips with a nourishing balm for several days before the procedure.

- Surgical and cosmetic operations during the stabilisation period (1–6 months)
- Radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatment
- Chemical peel (at least 28 days since the treatment)

Relative contraindications
- Use of anticoagulants, strong antibiotics, corticosteroids, retinoids
- Allergies and heightened sensitivity to pigment components
- Acute dermatosis, dermatitis in the planned procedure area
- Recurring herpes in the acute phase
- Weakened immunity and post-operative rehabilitation period
- Old permanent makeup in the planned micropigmentation area — please inform us in advance and send a photograph
- During menstruation — increased sensitivity; we recommend scheduling the procedure in the middle of the cycle
- Breastfeeding — not recommended during the first month of lactation
- Pregnancy in the second and third trimester — procedure only with a doctor’s consent and without anaesthesia
Specific contraindications for lip PMU
- Teeth whitening — micropigmentation is ideally performed no sooner than one month after teeth whitening, to prevent irritation.
- Lip fillers — the gap between lip augmentation and micropigmentation should be approximately 2–3 weeks.
Aftercare
The quality of the result depends 50% on proper aftercare. Complete lip skin regeneration takes 30 days. Do not plan important meetings for 3 days after the procedure — lips will appear bolder than the final result.
- On the day of the procedure, regularly wipe the area with a cotton pad soaked in Corsodyl solution.
- Avoid any contact with the healing area — do not touch, rub, scratch or peel the scabs.
- If you experience uncomfortable tightness, use the product recommended by the specialist.
- Do not apply any products to the healing area — no lipstick, gloss or any other decorative cosmetics.
- Do not expose your lips to sunlight for 3 weeks. Use a lip balm with SPF 30+.
- Avoid spicy and hot foods during the healing period.
- Detailed aftercare instructions will be provided with the documentation at your procedure.
To achieve the final result, a correction is necessary 1–3 months after the first visit.
